Dr Muhsin Salim Masoud Joined the Peoples Bank of Zanzibar (PBZ) in February 2021 as the managing Director after retiring from the position of the Managing Director of Amana Bank in September 2020. The vision is to make PBZ operationally efficient, affordable and competitive bank that accommodates a fully-fledged Islamic Bank Subsidiary.
He aims to make PBZ a giant financial institution that embraces technology and to be one of the top three banks in Tanzania. PBZ to be a bank which is mainly concentrating on Retail, Small, Medium and Micro Enterprises and that on boards Corporates Customers cautiously. To transform PBZ as the best provider of services to customers which attracts the best talents and retain the happiest workforce, who embraces ethical conduct in the industry.
He joined Amana Bank limited in May 2015 as the Managing Director after serving on the Board of Directors as a member and Chairman of the Board Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee since the inception of the bank in 2011.
He holds a PhD in Business Administration from the University of Dar es Salaam. He did a Bachelor of Business Studies in Accounting at the Islamic University in Uganda, MSc. Finance at the Strathclyde University UK, and Licentiate of Philosophy at the Umea University in Sweden.
Prior to joining Amana Bank, Dr. Muhsin served as a lecturer and Associate Dean at the University of Dar es Salaam Business School for more than 16 Years participating in various researches and short-term trainings with a main focus on Corporate Social Responsibility, Business Ethics, Accounting Education, and Stakeholders related issues. He has published in local and international journals in the areas of Accounting and Management as well as in the proceedings of International Conferences.
Dr. Muhsin believes that there is nothing he can achieve as an individual unless he has most capable people around. He also subscribes to the fact that important ingredients of positive developments are being responsible and ethical.
